Maths

Writing

Today, you need to draw upon your sense of humour for writing. You are going to look at writing adverts and brochures for comedy.

• Look at the picture. What does it make you think about? Where do you think it is? Who do you think lives there? Jot your initial ideas down in your home learning book (they might help you to answer the questions later.)
• Read the comprehension questions and discuss your answers with an adult if you can.
• Write your answers on the sheet or in your home learning book.

Head over to spelling frame today and practise Spelling Rule 54. Today you need to practise the beginning spelling words from Years 5 and 6. Today’s words range from -aw to -cont.

Topic

Today we are going to begin our entries for the Art Competition! Each week there will be a new theme and there will be a prize for the best entry from KS2. Everyone who enters their artwork will receive a certificate!

This week’s theme is The Natural World.

It’s your turn to create some amazing artwork and interact with our natural world.

You can choose from the following four activities:

3. Bug Hotels
4. Wind Whirlers

In reading and writing this week we are going to focus on newspaper reports. We have looked at this genre in our writing at school so you should be familiar with their layout and the key features included within a newspaper report already.
