Dress to Express Yourself Day 2022

On Friday 18th February, we promoted Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week by having a ‘Dress to Express Yourself Day’ at school. We all came to school dressed in our favourite outfits or our favourite colour to express ourselves and celebrate a diverse range of emotions. Take a look below at some pictures of our wonderful children, dressing to express themselves!

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week 2022

This week, we celebrated ‘Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week!’ The theme for the campaign this year was:

Express Yourself!

‘Growing together is about growing emotionally and finding ways to help each other grow. Challenges and setbacks can help us to grow and adapt and trying new things can help us to move beyond our comfort zone into a new realm of possibility and potential. However, emotional growth is often a gradual process that happens over time and sometimes we might feel a bit ‘stuck’.

EYFS

The children in Nursery read the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. The children in Reception read the story ‘The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. These are both stories all about growth. The children then created some amazing artwork!

KS1

The children in KS1 created their own support balloons! We encouraged the children to think about the people in their lives who support them and help them to grow.

KS2

The children in KS2 created a growing together wall. We encouraged the children to think about their own growth since September. The children wrote about something they have learnt, achieved or found out about themselves or others.

Anti Bullying Week 2021

This November, we supported ‘Anti-Bullying Week’.

This year’s theme was: ‘One Kind Word’.

“Kindness is more important today than it has ever been! The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us. This is one of the reasons that ‘One Kind Word’ has been chosen as the theme of Anti-Bullying Week 2021!”

We have been showing acts of kindness to start a chain reaction of kindness at Moston Lane! Here are some of our kind acts…

International Day of Happiness

International Day of Happiness virtual distance runs – Fort Carson ...

On Friday 20th March 2020, we celebrated ‘International Day of Happiness’.

It’s a day to be happy of course!

This year's theme was ‘Happier Together,’ focusing on what we have in common, rather than what divides us.

We celebrated this day by completing lots of fun activities to support the International Day of Happiness, focusing on what we could do to create a happier world. This day helped us to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world. As we face this global crisis together, we thought it was important to find positive ways to look after ourselves and each other.

Everyone wants to be happy - and life is happier when we're together.
