On the Move

This week in Reception, our Topic has been 'On the Move'. We have been learning all about different types of vehicles/transport and how they move,  what they look like etc. We have done lots of activities including:
- Worked at the 'car wash' in the water tray
- Collaged and painted vehicles
- Investigated car tracks from different vehicles using paint
- Read lots of stories about transport
- Did a traffic survey and wrote about the different vehicles we could see

Christmas Jumper Day 2021

Take a look at our amazing Christmas jumpers!

Diwali 2021

To celebrate Diwali, this year Reception watched some videos and discussed with our partners all the different ways that Diwali can be celebrated and what it is about. We then created our own Rangoli patterns by colouring and dot painting.

Take a look at our pretty patterns!

Marcus Rashford Day

To celebrate the end of Black History Month, we looked at why some people find Marcus Rashford inspirational. We did lots of different activities throughout the day but our favourites were the penalty shootout, designing and building our own football stadiums and designing our own football kits.

Autumn

For our topic 'Autumn', the children did lots of lovely activities. We went on an Autumn Walk and then:
- Did some writing on what we saw on our walk.
- Finger painted autumn trees
- Leaf printing squirrel tails
- Investigated Autumn objects using magnifying glasses

Head to Toe

In our topic 'Head to Toe', we learnt all about our 5 senses. The children enjoyed making musical instruments when it was 'Hearing Day'.

Have a look at our amazing work below!
