DT Engineering Competition

On Monday 27th February 2017, Moston Lane launched an exciting Design Technology project in the form of a competition. The children were challenged to think about the question: ‘If you were an engineer, what would you do?’. The children in Year 2 to Year 6 have been asked to think of a problem and design a unique solution.

To help inspire everybody, we were fortunate enough to have 2 engineers visit our school to talk to the children about what is involved in engineering. During their workshops, each class heard all about the work that the engineers have completed in the past and what projects they have coming up. The children also got to try their hand at engineering as they worked in teams to build the highest tower using dried spaghetti and marshmallows!

The children have started developing their own inventions in class and we can't wait to see what everybody comes up with!
