Previous Years Work

2021 - 2022

Science

In Science this half term, we learnt about the different states of matter. We completed experiments to find out more about solids, liquids and gases. We also learnt that liquids and gases can be changed from one state to another by heating or cooling. This changes are called evaporation and condensation.

Careers in Action

On Monday 7th February, Year 4 took part in a workshop called ‘Careers in Action’ and were introduced to three new and exciting careers (palaeontologist, civil engineer and product designer) by Into University. The children learnt what is meant by the term skill and career and worked in groups to complete the activities. It was so much fun!

International Women's Day 2022

On 8th March 2022, we celebrated International Women’s Day across the school. In Year 4, we wrote about what we had enjoyed learning.

Clay Artwork

In Art this half term we have learnt different clay techniques to create our clay dragon eyes. We practiced slabbing, scoring and slipping as well as coiling. We are currently in the process of painting our dragon eyes. How exciting!

Geography Field Trip

As we were learning about rivers in Geography, we went on a field trip to Boggart Hole Clough. Mr Robertson came along with us and taught us lots of interesting facts about ‘rivers’, 'downstream', 'tributary', 'confluence' and much more. We loved exploring the nature around us and made some great memories on that day.

Science Experiments

In Year 4, we learnt about Sound and Electricity in Science. During each topic, we planned and conducted some experiments. We learnt about sound-proofing and sound waves during our Sound topic and about how to build a circuit as well as conductors and insulators during our Electricity topic.

Author Zoom

This Autumn term, we participated in a few author’s zoom. We particularly enjoyed learning more about Konnie Huq’s and Onjali Rauf. Konnie Huq even taught us how to draw in her own style! It was so much fun!
