2021 - 2022
International Women's Day 2022
On 8th March 2022, we celebrated International Women’s Day across the school. In Year 5, we wrote about what we had enjoyed learning.
North City Library Trip
As part of our Local History topic, Year 5 attended a workshop at North City Library where we learnt all about Emmeline Pankhurst and The Suffragettes. Did you know that Emmeline Pankhurst held her rallies at Boggart Hole Clough? We had a fantastic day and learnt lots of new information!
Gymnastics
Team 11 have been practising our PE skills during our strength gymnastics lessons. We have been learning about how to strengthen our core muscles using a range of apparatus.
Religious Education
In our RE lessons, we have been learning about the parables that Jesus told to his followers. We read and listened to a range of parables and then in groups, re-created the parable using freeze frames.
Christmas Jumper Day 2021
Here are Team 11 on Christmas Jumper Day!
Forces
In science, we have been learning about a range of forces. To investigate air resistance, we designed and tested a range of parachutes to discover whether the size and surface area of the parachute affected the amount of air resistance acting upon it.
Space
Year 5 worked hard on creating a moving Earth, moon and sun model. You can see their work below! We also recreated the cycles of the moon using Oreo biscuits. Yum!
