Hello Year 3!

Today's Over and Above Star is...

Rebecca

You have been blowing the teachers away with all your hard work in school. You are putting in 100% effort to every single task. We are very proud of you!

Did you know that today is National Space Day?

Friday 1st May is National Space Day. Each year on the first Friday of May, scientists and space enthusiasts gather together to celebrate Space Day.

The day was created to observe the many wonders of the unknown space that our planet, and plenty of others, floats in. It encourages children to take an interest in the scientific field of space travel.

Once you have finished your maths and writing tasks for today, have a go at some of the fabulous activities at the bottom of the page to get you excited about the solar system, space travel and what it is like to be an astronaut.

The hottest planet in our Solar System is Venus.

One million Earths could fit inside the sun!

There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth.
