You have been made Star of the Day because your teachers are so impressed with the fantastic effort you are putting into your Home Learning tasks! We are especially proud of how hard you have been working on your maths tasks. Keep up the hard work!

We have something to share with you all…

Miss Marriott and Miss Youldon received this lovely message of kindness from the wonderful Rebecca!

When you have read the story, choose one of these tasks to complete:

Task 1 - Choose the eight most important events in the story and draw a storyboard to summarise what happened in the story. You might want to use this template to help you.

Task 2 – Read pages 28 and 29 again. What do you imagine the dreams looked like? What might they have been about? Show me what you think the dreams were like. You could do this by drawing a picture or writing a description of the dream.

When you have read pages 1 – 13 aloud to a grown up, answer the questions in your Home Learning book.

1. Where did Axle the Freeway Cat live?

2. Look on page 5. Where did Axle put his shoes?

3. What was the first thing that Axle did every morning after he woke up?

4. What did Axle do after breakfast?

5. Read the extract from the story.

Over, under and around they whizzed.

What do you think the word whizzed means in this sentence?

6. Find and copy the two adjectives used by the author to describe the harmonica that Axle found.

7. Turn to page 13. How do you think Axle felt at this point in the story and why?
