Week Beginning 23rd March 2020
Theme - Blowing in the Wind.
This week’s theme helps children to explore the concept of wind and how it is moving air. Even though we don’t see it, we feel it and see its effects!
Look at the clouds in the sky (if there are any) and watch them move. Look at the shapes they make as they move and change. Is anything else moving in the wind for example; trees, clothes on the washing line etc?
Sing the nursery rhyme ‘Rock a Bye Baby’ with someone at home. Refer to this YouTube video if you are unsure of the rhyme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03VAIrkmrD0
Look at your toys at home. See if you have any that need the wind to make them move for example; a pinwheel toy or a kite.
If you have a kite at home, take it outside and have fun with it in the wind! If you don't have a kite, could you make your own?
If you have any bubbles at home, pretend that you are the wind and blow bubbles into the air.
Can you tell someone at home something that you have learnt about this week’s theme, ‘Blowing in the Wind’? What activity have you enjoyed the most?
Have a great weekend! :)
