Early Years Foundation Stage

Dear Parents and Carers,
You know your children best and we want to ensure that we are providing your children with the best experiences possible at Moston Lane. If your child has developed a personal interest in something, please come in and share this with staff as we will try to provide your child with the opportunity to explore this interest at school. For example, if they have enjoyed looking for minbeasts at the weekend we could plan for learning experiences linked to Spring. Your child may have visited somewhere over the weekend and if we are aware of this we can plan for opportunities for your child to share their experiences and enhance their learning further. Anything you feel your child is particularly interested in or has enjoyed doing/visiting, please tell a member of our staff team and we will try to incorporate this into our planning. This process is ongoing throughout your child’s time in our Foundation Stage.

Please feel free to share interests and experiences with us as often as you wish!

Thank you for your support!

This booklet will help you find out more about how your child is learning and developing during their first five years, in relation to the EYFS. Children develop more rapidly during the first five years of their lives than at any other time. It will help you as a parent know what to expect during these vitally important years by focusing on the seven areas of learning and development which are covered in the EYFS.

We use this to guide our assessments of children's development at Moston Lane Primary School.
